I would like to thank Kevin Brown for convincing me to start a Kymanox blog. At first, I was concerned about the strict confidentiality agreements Kymanox has in place with our clients and the limits these agreements place on disclosure and public notification. After some additional thought, however, I realized that there was a lot to blog about that is outside the realm of confidentiality. As Kevin pointed out, I speak at industry events and share useful insights that are related to non-confidential information on a regular basis.
The other hesitation I had about blogging was related to how blogs – and the bloggers who write them – are responsible for propagating a lot of misinformation. Before the internet, news stories were professionally researched and vetted by reputable news organizations prior to publication; now anyone with a computer and internet connection can contribute a wide variety of information – and misinformation – to any topic imaginable. On the flip side, blogging allows real-time responses and opinions on stories that may be unavailable by other means.
With my blogging objections addressed, I look forward to sharing with you some of the many day-to-day findings that will be of value and interest to our clients, regulators, and business partners.
